Mason's cousin Grayson Zane Parrish joined the family Feb. 2nd in the wee hours of the moring. GiGi, Mason and i packed up and headed to Rogers at 10PM to get there in time to see him. Aunt Sassy was a super star (made me feel like a wimpo) and Grayson looks just like his daddy.

Mason was not real sure about the new kid :)

Mason was more concerned about his buddy uncle Joel the whole time.

Yes that is right this is Christmas #3 for us. Mason and I (daddy had to work) headed to Warren to celebrate with the cousins. WOW was this a case of sensory overload or what. I think the pictures speak for themselves :)

The fam headed to ElDO to celebrate Jt's birthday. The boys (Mason's cousins) were having a great time feeding each other cake. Mason learned you can't run towards the swing while somebody is swinging. After two feet smacked him in the face he was ready to GO HOME. GiGi went with us to the fair this year. We saw lots of animals, had great food and even rode a few rides. Mason's favorite thing to do was feed the animals in the petting zoo. He ran around in there for a long time trying to feed everything and just having a blast.

Well Mason started going to school (mother's day out) on Tuesdays and Thursdays. He loves going and he loves his teachers. He is getting so big now he gets dropped off and picked up in the carpool line like a big boy.

We took a little family trip to Memphis in September. We went to the zoo and Mason loved it. We have been to the zoo in LR several times but Memphis is bigger. We had a great time just hanging out as a family eating shopping and looking at some cool animals :)

OK OK OK I finally updated the blog. I forgot to add Mason's 15 month check up. Everything is going great. He is getting to be such a big boy.

He has grown a lot since then (he is 17 months now) he likes to weigh with me at weight watchers and their scale said 28lbs the other day. I'm glad cause he was kinda scrawny. He is all over the place these days. He keeps me going that is for sure. He talks all the time and sometimes I understand what he says :) He is still pretty laid back but something happens around dark each night and he turns into crazy kid. We think he is just trying to keep himself awake.

Mason's GiGi started something. During diaper changing time she would ask him if he had stinky feet and say "shoo." Now when you ask him to smell something he sniffs and says "wooo." He was in his carseat and I was asking him if his feet were stinky. This is what he did.

Aunt Sassy and Uncle Joel went on an awesome Mediterranean cruise and traveled to wonderful places. While in Rome they found the perfect gift for Mason. Here is what he thought of his new gift................

He thought the costume was great until I put the chest guard on. It was all plastic and not heavy but he did not like it at all. We have been very busy lately and our Internet has been down so I have not updated in a while. Here are some pics to show what we have been up to.

We showed a little Fulbright pride and went to the Twister's game to watch the cheerleaders dance. Then Mason got to pose with his favorite cheerleader, Sydney.

Mason makes us laugh all the time. This is his new funny face that he makes.

Cale came to visit again. He and Mason enjoyed a drink while watching Handy Manny.

Erin and Mary Elizabeth invited us to Disney on Ice. The kids had a great time dancing along and watching the characters. Aren't they so cute?

Mason had a great time eating his chocolate Easter bunny. He had it all over his face and he thought it was soooo funny.

Trip to Monticello

I had to do testing with the virtual school for a few days. So Mason and I headed down to Monticello to stay with my dad. We had a great time. We went over to my gradmaw's a couple of times and we took mason to dad's coffee shop to hang out. The highlight was going to the colfcourse and riding around in the golfcart. He ran around in the grass and loved going fast down the hills. I took a ton of pictures so here are just a few to share.

Most of you know that I had a Toyota Solara before I became a mommy and got my tank :) Well, My sweet cousin turned 16 and needed a car so we sold her mine. She LOVED that car. I hated to sell it but I knew she would love it and take care of it. She has not even been driving it very long. This past Friday she was in a bad accident. She is just fine. In fact, she went to prom 5 hours after the wreck. The car on the other hand........just decide for yourself.

Mason loves to play outside. It was really wet out today but Mason still wanted to go out. I was standing in the door watching him and talking to the tax guy when all of a sudden Mason was on the ground in front of his swing. He was not crying, just looking at me like hello come get me. He cried a tiny bit when I ran over to him but then he was just fine. He did not really get upset until I walked to the door to come in and clean him up. So, I put him down and he was happy as a bug in a rug and wanted to play in his car. Oh well, boys will be boys. He had mud on his face but he was havin fun. Later, he lost a shoe and then ran through the water, with one shoe and one sock, to play with something else. What fun!! He cried when I made him come in. I got him all cleaned up and there was not a scratch on him:)

I can not believe Mason is one already. He is so funny these days. He calls everyone and everything Dada. He only says mama when he really needs me. He loves to talk to everyone he sees and he is so so nosey when we go places. He has to check it all out.

We went to the doctor this week for his check up and everything was great he has hit that spurt where they stay the same size for a while. I was a little surprised that his weight had not increased since his 9 month visit but the doc said not to worry. He is growing very well and all his stats are right on track for his age. He does say Mason will be pretty tall (like we didn't know that.) Everyone thinks he is older that he really is because he is so tall.

I am having the best time with him. We go to Gymboree on Mondays and I am sweating by the end cause I am running around after him. We enrolled in school (aka-Mother's day out) this week. He starts next fall just a few hours a week. I can't wait to see him interacting with the other kids.

Today is the big day!!! Mason turned 1 at exactly 2:28 am. Tomorrow is the big party.

I can not believe it has been a whole year since Mason was born. I am sitting here waiting for him to get up (he had a late night playing) and I am amazed at how fast this year has gone. He has been the best baby ever. Oh sure there are time I wanted to pull my hair out but they are few. I never imagined being a mommy would be this fufilling. I have been able to stay at home with him this whole time and I have cherrished every moment. Thank you, Jarrod, for allowing me this amazing gift. I don't know how it can get any better.

Well what was I doing this time last year?????? Wishing Mason would HURRY UP and get here. I thought his birthday would never come. I was looking back at pictures and realized how huge I was. I loved being pregnant and I love being Mason's mommy. I can not believe how fast this year has gone. So here is a little reminder of last year.

It also snowed right about this time last year too. It snowed again on the 7th or 8th while we were in the hospital. How crazy is that?

Mommy and Daddy took Mason to Playhouse Disney Live for Valentine's day. Mason loved it!! He danced around to the music and clapped his hands. It was a real treat. We met the Sangalli's there and after the show we all went out for pizza. We stayed at the Embassy suits and mason got to sleep with mommy and daddy in the big bed.

After we got back to LR GiGi was here to keep Mason for the night so mommy and daddy could go to Hot Springs for the night. We stayed at my aunt's condo and went out to dinner at Pompeii. We were able to rest and sleep late. Jarrod also got me a new cell phone and I LOVE it. It is so much better that my other one :)

Mason LOVES bananas for breakfast. As soon as one piece hits his highchair it goes in his mouth. He stuffs his mouth so full he can hardly chew. It is so funny and he does it every time I give him one. After the first few bites he slows down but it is like he is thinking, "Oh wow bananas."

Ok so I just posted updates for Mason but I have one I need to change. I had Mason wearing shoes that were size 5 1/2 and as it turns out he is NOT. We wanted to get him some new tennis shoes so we thought we would get his foot measured just to be sure. Shocker..........he needs a 6 1/2 if he is going to have any room to grow. The lady said I should really buy a size 7. OMG!!!!! My child is 10 months old and he has outgrown all our 2 year old friends. He is going to be taller than me by the time he is 6 years old:)

Much needed Mason updates

Ok so Mason is 10 months old now. I can NOT believe how he is growing and changing. He is doing so much these days. He jabbers all the time and can say mama and dada when he wants to. He pulls up on everything. He is a super fast crawler and can get away from you in seconds. He can play in his room for a very long time and keep himself entertained. He eats everything and he feeds himself dinner now. He has 3 teeth now. He loves pasta pickups and fruit bites. People never believe he is only 10 months.

10 month stats:

9 months update. Major things that happened this month is Mason FINALLY cut his first tooth. He has 2 bottom teeth now. He also decide to crawl normally and realised it is a lot faster. We went to he Dr. for a check up this month and everything was perfect. The Dr. said he was soaring off the charts for height. I was glad we went in because he had his first real sick episode. He threw up all over me 3 times the night before we went in. Thank goodness it was over quickly. He has been battling a snotty nose and cough for weeks now but nothing like the stomach bug.

WE had a great Christmas this year. Santa went a little overboard but Mason LOVED it. We celebrated here in LR at our house. Everyone came for the day and we fixed a great dinner. Jarrod always does an awesome job with the meat :) I loved having everyone here to celebrate. I have more to post later.

Jarrod gave me the best birthday gift ever!!! HE sent me to NYC . Kerri and Lauren came along and we had the greatest time. We stood in the rain to get tickets to see Mary Poppins and the show was unbelieveable. We shopped and ate till we could not eat anymore. I had the BEST time and I can't wait to go again :) Thanks girls for making this trip so much fun. Thank you Jarrod for sending me. I have ALWAYS wanted to go and I finally got that wish. You are the best!

We took the best trip ever this bast November. Carol, Lech, Melissa, Greg, Jarrod and I all went on a whirl wind trip to Europe. First, we went to Amsterdam and had a great time wandering around. It is not ALL skeezy. Then, we headed to Brussells for one day only. The Main square was amazing. The buildings were so beautiful. Last, we headed to Paris for a few days. I had been to Paris before a LONG time ago but this was different. We were able to just stroll around by ourselves and take it all in. I really missed Mason but I had a great time. I am so glad he had such good sitters back here at home. Thanks everybody.

It is amazing what entertains kids. Mason thought playing in the clothes basket was quite fun HE has officially started crawling "normally." He has been doing the army man crawl for a while but he gets up on his knees now and there is NO stopping him. He is pulling up on everything and he is also curious about everything. If my diet doesn't work then chasing him around should. He is so much fun these days.

Yes, that's right I am updating from Europe. Right now we are in our hotel in Amsterdam. We just got here a litte while ago and had to take a rest before we go exploring. It is cold and snowing here but I love it. Next we go to Brussles then Paris. I will be keeping up with email so if anyone needs me email me. acjsparrish@sbcglobal.net.

PS No, Mason is not with me. I cried all the way from the car to the check in at the airport but the I was ok. I know he is in good hands :)

Well the countdown is on. Jarrod and I are leaving this Friday for our trip to Europe. I have been freakin out about leaving Mason for a WHOLE WEEK. I am a nervous wreck about flying. I have been over seas twice before so I should be a pro :) So please say a little prayer that we will have a safe trip and that Mason will have a good week. I know he will be safe and sound with all the people caring for him. I can't wait to share our pictures with you.

HOWDY LADIES!!!

We went to the state fair with the Sangalli's again this year. The weather was bad but we had fun anyway. Mason cruised around in his stroller and enjoyed checking everything out. His daddy had to buy him his first cowboy hat. It IS the fair!

We went down to Monticello to meet Savannah, Maggie, and Carter. Mason had a great time trying to get Savi's toes. He thought she was such a cutie pie. Savannah is my good friend Tara's little girl and this is the first time we have gotten together since the babies were born. It was so good to see you guys. I hope we can get together again soon.

Mason loves his new jumper that Papaw Don got him. He spins, jumps, and giggles the whole time. He loves playing in the floor with his toys. He also like to roll all over the place. Mason is not really crawing yet but he is practicing.

6 months

I can not believe Mason is 6 months old already. He is getting so big. I love staying at home with him. I miss him so much when I have to go in and sub. I will be subbing 2 days a week if they need me but this last week I subbed 4 days. I was happy to sub for Molly so she could go to Europe but I was missin my little man. Mason goes the the sitter. I call them the Golden Girls. They are so sweet and they love when he comes.

The doctor gave me an A+ in the mommy department. Mason is growing and developing right on schedule. He eats his veggies and we have now started fruit with breakfast. He loves EVERYTHING except green beans. I don't blame him they looked gross. He does love sweet peas so at least he gets something green.

He sits by himself and plays like a big boy and he wants to talk soooo bad. Right now he only says mama if he is getting upset and he wants me. He has said dada but neither one on command. I am going to start going to Gymboree classes soon. I think he will love it.

We went down to visit the gang in Texarkana this past weekend. Mason got to meet Mr. Joe, Mrs. Kathy and all her sisters. I am so glad we got to visit with you guys. As you can see Mason was tuckered out and snuggled up with Cathy. Since he was asleep they told us to go ahead and go out for dinner. Jarrod and I enjoyed a yummy dinner while Cathy babysat. Thanks for keeping our little man. I hope to get down there to visit again soon.

Backyardigans

Mason's dedication

It meant a lot to us to have Mason dedicated. I decided to go down to Monticello to do it at my church. I grew up there and Jarrod and I got married there. Brother Chad did a great job. He took a little longer than usual. I guess he realized we drove all the way down there and he wanted to make it really special.

Thank you to everyone who drove so far for this special day. Shane, Kerri, Will, Carter, Huck and Lauren came all the way from Little Rock. GiGi and Papaw Rock came over from Camden. Papaw Don was there too. It means more to us than you will ever know. Thanks for loving us and our little one.

I am so glad that the Bradshaws came by to visit us before going back to OK. I am also very excited to hear that they are expecting another little one in February. Lyla was so funny she wanted to touch Mason face and eyes. I guess that is what kids do to smaller kids. It was really cute.
